In most cases, the incision used for tummy tuck surgery is made across the lower abdomen and can run from hip to hip depending upon the patient’s individual goals. However, Dr. Scott Miller takes great care to make this incision at a location that can best be concealed by most types of underwear.

Dr. Miller also recommends that tummy tuck patients minimize physical exertion during their recovery. By reducing engagement in strenuous exercise or activity, the abdominal region can be better protected against undue strain or tension, ultimately facilitating the healing process. We also remind our patients at that scars usually continue to fade for a year or two after surgery, and that the vast majority of patients say the results of the procedure far outweigh any worries they initially had about scarring.
